Multifan - Impellers
Axial impellersThanks to many years of experience in the development and manufacture of impellers for our Multifan fans, we have obtained a very thorough knowledge of everything related to axial impellers. It is, of course, paramount that we pay full attention to one of the most important parts of our fans - the impeller.
As a result, Multifan impellers have the highest quality and are employed in a range of applications far beyond the normal use of fan impellers.
Modular system
There are three different systems:
C-System
Axial impellers C-SystemThis system consists of a series of plastic hubs whereby the base of the blade has a flat side. The blade is manufactured with a fixed blade angle (25° - 45°). This means that the angle cannot be adjusted by the customer. The maximum torque strength of this system is less than the other systems.

K-System
Axial impellers K-SystemIn this system, the hub and blade are manufactured with 2 notches. During assembly of the blades in the hub, an adjusting ring (positioning ring) is placed between the hub and the blade, which determines the blade angle. These positioning rings can be supplied from 25° - 45°. The advantage is that only one blade type has to be kept in stock, which can supply every required angle with different positioning rings.

G-System
Axial impellers G-systemThis system has the same characteristics as the K-system, but the G-system has a larger base, which permits a higher torque strength.

Blade profile
There are 4 types of different blade profiles available. Some can be delivered in a right and a left version. Various profiles are available for the C-, K- en G-system.
Profile nr. 2. Available in C-, K- and G-system, left and right execution. This profile is meant for the smaller impellers with a diameter up to ± 450 mm and small shaft diameter.
Profile nr. 3. Available in C-, K- and G-system, left and right execution. This profile is meant for impellers with a diameter of 200 mm up to ± 700 mm.
Profile nr. 4. Available in K- and G-system. All profiles can be manufactured in left execution only. This profile is meant for impellers with a diameter of 300 mm up to 820 mm and small shaft diameter.
Profile nr. 5. Available in C- and G-system, left execution only. This profile is meant for impellers with a diameter of 300 mm up to ± 820 mm and high air capacities.
Profile nr. 8. Available in G-system, left and right execution. This profile is meant for impellers with a diameter of 300 mm up to ± 1079 mm and high air capacities.
All profiles can be manufactured in various materials such as polypropylene (PP), polypropylene with fibre glass (PG), nylon (N) and aluminium (AL).
Quality demands
Multifan impellers are subjected to the highest quality requirements, any possible weaknesses being rectified during the prototype phase. Very accurate measuring devices are used for this purpose in our RD department.
Balance
For the balancing of aluminium impellers two balance control machines are available, each equipped with electronic measuring devices. Multifan aluminium impellers fulfill the balance specifications stipulated in VDI 2060 and ISO 1940.
Testing
Throughout prototyping to production there is continuous inspection of our Multifan impellers, checking the mechanical specifications and the air flow characteristics. For the testing of the mechanical characteristics (torque strength) we use a test bench that applies various forms of vibrations to the impeller, similar to those encountered under extreme circumstances.
A wind tunnel is used for testing the air flow. In this tunnel, the impellers are tested for pressure and air flow production. To ensure that the impellers continue to function correctly, even under the most unfavourable circumstances, they are tested up to maximum limits.
